Our women in fitness series is a celebration of fly girls doing fly things. Meet Diana – she’s an online fitness coach who runs monthly online bootcamp accountability groups focusing on workouts, nutrition, balance, personal development and self-love.
Diana’s story
When I first started my fitness journey, my main focus was to look good. As time has went on, I realised my health as a whole was more important then just the aesthetics.
I also struggled with comfort/emotional eating since the age of eleven when my parents divorced; this is when major weight gain developed and why I had been up and down for so long with my weight. I would do so well for a while, then I would face something tough and comfort myself with food. I decided just over five years ago to take my fitness seriously and have fought for my fitness ever since.
I become a fitness instructor and qualified PT and also started to teach Insanity – the main programme I used to begin my journey. I’ve gained so much inner strength mentally and physically and I am a better person for it. Fitness has literally changed my life for the better and I know I am capable of achieving so much. It’s given me a self belief I would never have gained otherwise. I feel powerful!
I’m now an online fitness coach as my main goal is to help as many people start their journey and remain consistent. I believe it’s important to love yourself and body at every stage, no matter your size and shape. We are uniquely and wonderfully made. The mind is the most powerful tool and this is something I like to focus on with my clients. I like to also share my struggles as I’m not perfect at all. Although I’ve mastered being consistent, the struggles still come and they will always come. It’s just how you choose to handle them that matters. I feel like I have found a balance to living a healthy lifestyle as well as being able to enjoy my life and help motivate others.
